Thrilled to be featured on She Knows Celebrations! I worked with Chris, editor of Celebrations at Home, to create the menu and dessert table sign featured. I just love how Chris brought everything together for a great tablescape and showcase 6 low-cost ideas for your garden wedding.

Every year I see commercials and hear friends rave on Facebook about the infamous Shamrock Shake. Having never had one, to avoid havoc on my digestive system, I asked around to see what it tastes like and the majority of the responses were a minty flavor. I thought, oh that’s easy to turn into something Kendall and all of us can enjoy! So I whipped up a batch and boy did we all inhale it! Even Tyler! It was the perfect amount of mint and green food dye to make it on our St. Patrick’s day menu.
I thought it would be fun to show you the ingredients visually since there are only a few. Plus I can show you some staples I have in our home to cater to Kendall’s allergies. This loose recipe made about 2 large milkshakes. I scooped about 4-5 heaping scoops of creamy vanilla ice cream and poured about 2 cups of very vanilla soy milk into a blender. I blended until completely mixed. I tore apart about 6-7 mint leaves (add more or less to taste), 6 drops of green food dye and 2 drops of yellow and blend again. Pour and add Soy or Rice Whip cream and there you go! A vegan, allergen-friendly Shamrock Shake!
If you fancy mint chocolate chip, So Delicious also carries a Mint Chip flavor that would work great in this recipe too!
1. Silk Very Vanilla Milk – we use this primarily for desserts like hot chocolate and baking. Rice milk is our staple for every day use and cooking.
What are some recipes you try to make allergen-free? Are there any you’d like for me to try and share?
I’m knee deep in planning Tyler’s first birthday party and came across a tweet about gorgeous party utensils. I was curious so clicked on the picture and fell in love. These customized utensils are absolutely adorable! Brooke, the owner, takes trendy designs and embellishes wooden utensils to match any theme from weddings to parties. You know I’ll be ordering some for Tyler’s party!
I’m a big fan of learning about the people behind the shop so I asked Brooke to share a little with us and here is what she had to say:
“I started printing wooden utensils in Spring, 2011, just as a fun little project for my craft blog. I was immediately hooked and woke up early and stayed up late playing with patterns and color combinations. It was really amazing how quickly they began showing up on other blogs and Pinterest, and we began to get requests from magazines to be included. It was just one of things that fell amazingly into place! Sucre Shop has grown from a one-woman operation to 7 people to help with production, packaging and shipping, and media. We’re currently carried in about 80 stores Nationally and Internationally, and have been featured in a big handful of my favorite magazines and blogs, which keeps things very exciting. But, I still love to connect with people, and custom make products, so we are still selling on Etsy, and I answer those conversations personally. I hope you’ll check us out!”
