Baby Bliss.

I’m slightly obsessed with shopping for my little one…so when I stumbled upon this modern shop my heart went a flutter. It is filled with modern not so babyish furniture, gear, and more for your wee one to your bigger kids. Baby Bliss has 2 storefronts located in Texas but with the online shop, they can cater to customers everywhere. This mother of 2 created Baby Bliss out of a desire to have fashionable style for her daughter and son that she couldn’t find in most baby stores. So glad she did!

Typically I look for girls clothes and bedding since I have a daughter but I decided to step out of the box and look at baby boy’s bedding. This transportation crib set created by DwellStudio is so adorable! I love the simple design and all of the colors. This set comes with a reversible blanket, reversible bumper, fitted sheet and crib skirt. A great and stylish start for any young man.

One of my personal favs is this heirloom baby book. This is not your typical fru-fru baby book. It’s sleek and modern design is sure to bring back those most cherished memories from birth until their third birthday. The limited edition screen printed book comes with it’s own keepsake box. We love having this on our shelves!

New paper cutter.

I have been debating and putting off purchasing a new paper cutter for a long time. Could I justify the investment? Is it necessary? Well when my old paper cutter started to ‘burr’ the edges of my paper, I knew it was time to buckle down and get a new one. I’ve seen a lot of stationers use the RCM12 from South Coast Designs so I decided to invest in it as well after talking with the company. It was definitely worth the purchase! It cuts my paper perfectly like running a sharp knife through butta. Now I’m more excited about the grand re-opening of my shop.

Happy New Year.

Happy New Year Everyone!

As 2008 comes to a close, I sit and reflect on where my business started and where it’s going. I started in February creating photo card designs for birthdays, birth announcements, baby + bridal showers, etc..while doing wedding invitations on the side. I then found the great world of Etsy where I began to sell stationery sets along with favor tags. Surprisingly the favor tags fared extremely well and were my best seller.

There were many trial and errors along the way which has led me to where I am today. I look forward to 2009 with high hopes as I continue to grow and prosper.

For all of you who have been dying to see what I have been designing the past month, here’s a sneak peek.

I heart The Container Store.

OK, so I know this isn’t really business related but I just had to share a little tidbit about me. I am a bit of an organization freak. I need order. I crave order. So when I had the opportunity to visit one of my favorite stores, The Container Store, while visiting my family in Texas, I had to go, not once…but twice! I’m glad my poor dad found a comfy chair to hang out in.

And when I’m rich and famous, this will be our new master bedroom closet:

Q: Why a new name?

I’ve been getting this question a lot, why did you change your business name?

A: Did you ever wake up or see something that evoked a feeling that ultimately gave you an ‘oh yes!’ moment? Well while looking through dwell magazine and a trendy modern bathroom design magazine, I realized that I needed to take my business in a new direction. It was such a surreal moment like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. My thoughts and vision for the business became clear.

So I immediately acted upon it searching endlessly for a new name. b|e creative was a great name, don’t get me wrong, I love the spin I took off my initials but it is connected to a business with no real direction or vision. No game plan so to speak. So after looking through cities that meant something to me, family member names, etc…I finally thought of my birthstone – peridot. Love the way it sounds but didn’t really like how it looked on paper. So the homophone (thanks Steph!) Perideau was born.

So I now take inspiration from modern interior design and architecture. I love how clean and simple the lines are – almost so simple, it gives me the ‘why didn’t I think of that?’ feeling. As I take this time off to design and get everything ready for my re-opening, I take time to reflect and really take things in.

Have any more questions? Feel free to post them!
