Vanilla Apple Butter + Free Printable

We are drowning in apples. After making applesauce I wanted to try out some apple butter. So overnight I had the crock pot stewing apples which made the house smell delicious and made yummy apple butter. The recipe is super easy (minus peeling all of the apples) and makes 2 pint size canning jars worth. And with the holidays around the corner, this would make a great holiday gift. So I designed this cute and country label that fits perfectly on the side of the jar. I used some adhesive kraft paper labels I had lying around, but you could also print on white adhesive labels.

Try out the recipe and package it up and share. That is if you want to. :]

VANILLA APPLE BUTTER

Ingredients
1 dozen apples: peeled, cored and cubed
1/2 cup apple cider
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp all spice
1 vanilla bean: split in half and seeds removed. Use the entire pod and seeds.
1/4 tsp salt

Directions
• Throw apples into the crockpot and toss with rest of the ingredients
• Cook on low for about 10 hours (or overnight)
• Remove vanilla pod
• Puree in a food processor or blender until consistency desired. I like mine smooth as butta!
• Can, label, and gift

Enjoy on warm toast or biscuits.
