The Noisette Academy

This has been the week of launches in the blogsphere! So many new sites and courses are out there. It’s so exciting and invigorating to see so many entrepreneurs inspired and ready to share their hearts. Isa is no different than the rest, in fact I feel her strength and heart every time I read her blog or chat with her on twitter. She has overcome the unthinkable but found her inner strength. She has channeled this new found power into her new site and e-courses. Although she is “across the pond” I feel like she’s sitting next me as we enjoy coffee and chat about our kids, which will get married one day.

But in all seriousness, I’m beyond excited about her new course offering and insisted she answer a few questions about why she decided to put it all out there. Ready? Let’s meet her!

Hi Isa! I’ve known you for a few years and just love watching you grow! Can you share your background with the rest of us?

Sure! I run Noisette Marketing a communications agency based in London that creates marketing, PR and branding strategies for creative businesses all over the world. I began the business in November 2009 after being made redundant from my job and going through a traumatic family loss. It was the lowest point of my life but a trip to Rwanda, Africa made me realise my life was still a thousand times better than what others experience. I didn’t want to waste the opportunity I had to do something positive with my life, so I took the leap and started my own business.

Since then Noisette Marketing has grown faster than I can keep up! Alongside my own client work, I’m a marketing consultant for Aeolidia clients, have recently spoke on PR at Etsy’s first small business conference and I even got the chance to guest post on Design*Sponge!

What made you decide to open up Noisette Academy last year?

I’ve always be interested in teaching. I once worked as an academic tutor for students with special needs and I enjoyed discovering the best way for each student to learn depending on their skills. The joy I got from helping my students gain a degree when others had written them off has always stayed with me. I saw first hand how working one-on-one with personalised teaching methods could change someone’s life.

When I started my agency it was my intention to help people who wanted to get better results from their marketing but I always knew I’d develop this to teaching these skills to creatives in the future.

In May 2011 I started The Academy blog as a way to share advice on growing your business for those who couldn’t yet work with me due to circumstances or budget restraints. The response has been amazing and this developed organically into Noisette Academy. The new website provides a base for all the courses we offer and ties our blog, twitter and facebook community together.
Congratulations on your big launches! Tell us about your e-course, Create Your Mark.

Create Your Mark the first e-course and mentoring program from Noisette Academy. It is all about finding your joy, your purpose in life and creating a business out of it. Something that ultimately could change the world. I fiercely believe that each of us have it in us to do something amazing and not enough of us are taking the opportunity to make the impact we desire and deserve. I hope Create Your Mark will make more people realise they have it in them to achieve great things.

I will personally be helping students through on-on-one mentoring as well as through the course materials, guiding them on the start of their journey. I have plans for more business orientated courses but I wanted to start at the beginning, lay the foundations as it were. Your business is more likely to succeed if you know who you are, have recognised what is holding you back and have the tools in place to abandon fear and move forward- so we’re starting there!
I saw that your empowerment kit is coming soon, did you want to talk about that?

The Empowerment Kit is my passion project! The kit is a workbook filled with prompts and inspiration to help you discover your dreams and how to achieve them. I wanted to create something inspiring so I’ve also included motivational art prints, quote cards and a printable party kit so you can celebrate your achievements in style!

Every kit sold will provide one sewing kit for disadvantaged women in Rwanda and 100% of the proceeds will be going to charity. Rwanda is a country very close to my heart as it’s where I had the BIG realisation that pushed me to start my business. My husband’s family are originally from there too so it is very personal project. We will deliver the kits to charities training women to start up their own sewing businesses. It’s taking longer than I expected to launch as there is some red-tape but hopefully in the next week or two.

There are so many workshops around the web offering to help people achieve their dreams, what makes yours unique?

I wanted to make sure I offered the chance for one-on-one mentoring in addition to the course materials. So many courses just give you the materials and leave you to get on with it so that was a big factor for me. Everyone is different and by also working one on one with each student, I’m able to ensure they get the full benefit out of the time we work together for a much lower cost that if we worked together through my agency. The course isn’t a quick fix but you will be learning life long skills that you will return to again and again throughout your lifetime.

Is it available worldwide?

The first Create Your Mark e-course runs from March 26nd to April 22nd and is open to people all over the world! I regularly work with clients in the US, Canada and Australia as well as the UK so it would be fantastic to have a great mix of students. The price is approximately $230 for the whole four week course, the unlimited mentoring and all course materials. Normally working with me in this manner would be upwards of a thousand dollars but I’m able to keep the price down by taking on a few students per program.

Go check out Isa and all her awesomeness! She is making things happen!

Thank you for the lovely comments ladies! I do kind of think it’s fate that Bridgett is having a baby boy who can marry my daughter, while her little girl can marry my son. It’s perfect!
