Yesterday was a fabulous day to spend time in New York City with a girlfriend doing what any girl would die for…look at paper of course! We had a ball admiring not only the known creativity behind the stationery designs. But who knew there were hidden architects in them too. The National Stationery Show was all I hoped it would be and more. I had a ball meeting up with PJ and CT and being surrounded by amazing talented people. If you ever have a chance to go for at least one day, it is worthwhile. Perhaps next year I will be blogging about my booth!
Fugu Fugu Press is a husband and wife team who specializes in letterpress greeting cards. Their booth was really eye catching: simple, modern, with a European touch. Quite jealous they have more than 1 letterpress machine. Simply the nicest and cutest couple there.
Fugu Fugu’s line consists of birthday, congrats, holiday, and more. Each card is printed on recycled paper and dressed with soy-based ink. You currently can find them online or in a retail shop near you.
Twig & Fig had by far the most outstanding, original, beautiful invitations I have ever seen. From the wedding invitation printed on a mini chalkboard to a bar mitzvah invitation adorned with faux wood. We really did sit and go through each book with our jaws open (promise no drool fell). Stunning work! And a stunning display as well. The picture above does not do it justice but the time it took to create it is much appreciated.

Gilah Press was another display that was worth drooling over. I had the pleasure of meeting these fabulous women and getting to know them better and what they do. Simply stunning workmanship.

Loop was a nice soothing booth displaying stationery and wrapping paper and they just started to delve into fabrics. If they ever come out with a line of canvas stretched prints, I would be first in line. The amazing story behind some of their drawings begins with an alternative note sent to her mom. Elissa sent a drawing to her mother which in turn her mother made some revisions and sent it back. This back and forth went on for years and the final product was a beautifully crafted drawing. To see the respectful interaction between mother and daughter is inspiring in which I hope to share with my daughter one day.

Last, but certainly not least, I’d like to share Sycamore Street Press. Another gorgeous letterpress company that offers sweet prints for babies nurseries, which I actually featured back in January, note + greeting cards, and more. A gorgeous display to boot.
